The Accenture Innovation Awards: a year-round innovation program for the most innovative Dutch products, services and concepts. With the Innovation Awards, Accenture gives companies and organizations the recognition they deserve. Concepts launched in the Netherlands that deliver exceptional performance in terms of innovation and sustainability and are younger than three years, register and compete for the coveted Blue Tulips, Green Tulip and the Audience Award.

Out of several hundred submissions SPIN remote has won the UX Design Award 2015. This international competition honors outstanding design and user orientation in products, digital solutions and services and is held on the occasion of the IFA, the global trade show for consumer- and home electronics.

In its considerations for this year’s award, the jury has placed an emphasis on product solutions developed with a consistently keen eye and ear for the user perspective. The jury has thus given prominence to solutions that offer new usage scenarios or which increase user benefit through significant improvements and simplifications.

UX Award jury statement: “SPIN remote radically strips down the functionality of a remote control to its barest essentials. The minimalist product offers just a few important control functions, which are triggered by intuitive movements and playful forms of interaction. SPIN remote SDC-1 is the successful realisation of a new product with a savvy concept for tactile resonance.”

The SPIN remote team received the UX Design Award 2015 from Peter Wouda - Design Director, Volkswagen.

We are extremely proud to share that we will debut SPIN remote at the International CES 2015, January 6-9, in Las Vegas, Atmel booth #MP25760 and the Freescale IoT Truck #CP8. The International CES is the world’s gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technologies. It has served as the proving ground for innovators and breakthrough technologies for more than 40 years and it is the global stage where next-generation innovations are introduced. We are so proud that our product, which has only just been introduced on Kickstarter, has already been recognized by others and is now having its debut on the CES. We would like to thank our friends at Atmel and Freescale for giving us this amazing opportunity.

We want people to see for themselves just how simple and intuitive it is to use SPIN remote, how responsive and precise our technology is and even how much fun you can have with it. Therefore we developed a portable demo board that visualizes 2 of the most important features of SPIN remote: channel switching and volume control. The entire team has worked extremely hard to get everything done in a very short period of time and our products have literally travelled halfway around the world to make this happen.
